As a response to the "new normal", the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB-IX) have adopted a safety and health protocol measures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for its employees and clients. Facilitated by the Mine Safety, Environment and Social Development Division (MSESDD), these measures have been observed at the onset of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in March and have been further intensified since the City of Zamboanga have shifted to General Community Quarantine (GCQ) effective May 16, 2020.
Signages, lavatories for hand washing, foot bath and regular checking of body temperature using hand-held scanner are just among the safety measures employed by the Office.
However, the office is still adopting a work from home and skeleton workforce arrangements for its employees. The public is still encourage to conduct their official business and inquiries thru email and telephone calls to minimize physical contact.
