"After conducting and assessing the Quality Management System during Stage 1 and Stage 2 Audit, I am recommending, in behalf of AJA Registrars, that the Quality Management System of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. IX, be registered against the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, with no major nor minor Non-Comformity", Ms. Merce Flores, Auditor of AJA Registrars said. Her words were more than enough to make the MGB-IX ISO Core Team burst into loud cheers and claps after bearing probably the most stressful but thrilling two-days for MGB-IX, as everyone was looking forward for the said announcement during the last day of the Stage 2 Audit last January 10, 2018.

This announcement took away all the exhaustion and inspired even more MGB-IX personnel to be more active especially in preparing for the visit of DENR Secretary Roy Cimatu the next day for the Turn-Over Ceremonies of a new RD for DENR-IX.

The ISO began sometime June of 2017 with the facilitation of the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP)-Mindanao, through its project leader Ms. Thernalyn Perfecto and resource person, Mr. Antonio Santos. MGB-IX had undergone a tough and thorough capacity trainings, to ensure that the requirements of the standards are followed and complied with to provide better services to our clientele.

The AJA Registrars Ltd. is a certifying body for ISO 9001:2015 Standards with Ms. Mercedelin Flores as AJA's accredited auditor who conducted the Stage 1 Audit last December 19, 2017.

It is a very rare opportunity for employees of National Government Agencies from regional offices to see their Department Secretaries in person, let alone shake hands and take photos with. So what a delightful treat had it been for DENR-IX employees to see Secretary Roy Cimatu up close and personal during his visit in Zamboanga City yesterday, January 11, 2018 for the turn-over ceremonies of the newly installed Regional Executive Director (RED) of DENR-IX, Forester Carlito Tuballa.

Sec. Cimatu’s visit was another milestone especially for MGB-IX, who hosted the program, more so since MGB-IX had recently been certified against ISO 9001:2015 standards. Former DENR-IX RED now Under Secretary Atty. Ernesto Adobo Jr., joined Sec. Cimatu, along with Usec. Atty. Juan Miguel Cuna, HEA (Ret.) Major Gen. Mario Chan and Director Rolly Castro of the HRDS.

After the more than six (6) months of ISO journey, the MGB-IX has finally declared ready to undertake the Stage 1 Audit, in our quest to be certified against the ISO 9001:2015 standards. With the facilitation of the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP)-Mindanao, through its project leader Ms. Thernalyn Perfecto and resource person, Mr. Antonio Santos, the MGB-IX had undergone a tough and thorough capacity trainings, to ensure that we follow and comply to the standards, in our desire to provide better services to our clientele.

The AJA Registrars Ltd. is a certifying body which the MGB-IX had select, after it has satisfied the Terms of Reference and fit in the ABC which the MGB-IX has posted in the PhilGEPS. Ms. Mercedelin Flores, AJA accredited auditor, had conducted the Stage 1 Audit on December 19, 2017. The whole day activity was very productive, interactive and promising, as the auditor, during the exit conference, gave positive feedback, citing few observations and recommended appropriate actions which the Office can take prior to the Stage 2 Certification Audit slated on January 7, 2018.
