The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Sta. Maria Sub-Station conducted a virtual lecture on fire safety tips and prevention on April 16, 2021. Fire Officer 3 Liz-Laudette Ratag gave a half-day online lecture via Zoom re laws, rules and regulations governing BFPs mandate including the different services they provide to the public.

“Expectation versus reality”, was what Asec. Joan A. Lagunda, DENR Assistant Secretary for Field Operations for Mindanao and Legislative Affairs, had emphasized during her interface with the Mines and Geosciences Bureau-IX employees on February 12, 2021.
She said that in addressing local politics and other external influences in the implementation of mining laws on the ground, MGB should be mindful of the expectations versus the reality of actual implementation of laws and regulations. She reminded her audience that as a regulating agency, MGB is always expected to strictly implement all existing mining laws and their related policies. However, she also said that there are certain realities that are also needed to be considered to come up with well-thought and balanced decisions that will benefit the greater good.

MGB-IX OIC, RD Hernani G. Abdon issued the renewal of the 5-Year Industrial Sand and Gravel Permit (ISAG-P) to Mr. Francisco F. Caragay Jr., today.
The ISAG Permit covering areas within Zamboanga del Sur in Binayan, Municipality of Labangan and Tulungan and Datagan, Pagadian City, is expected to be in operation from 2021-2026.
Mr. Caragay Jr.'s Permit is the first permit issued by Abdon since he assumed post in March of 2020.
