Pursuant to Executive Order No. 29 dated June 28, 2017, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, enjoins the nation in observing the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM). Hence, the DENR regional office have once again initiated the conduct of a two-part environmental activities in one barangay each in the Municipalities of Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur and Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay Province, on July 30 and August 1, 2019, respectively.

Geologists from MGB Regional Office IX attended a two-week training workshop from May 27 to June 7, 2019, on mineral resource estimation and modelling using GEOVIA Surpac, a 3-dimensional modelling software. Paramina Earth Technologies, Inc. in partnership with Dassault Systèmes hosted the training for Mines and Geosciences Bureau Offices at Cocoon Boutique Hotel in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. Geologists and mining engineers from MGB-Central Office and Regional Offices represented their respective divisions and sections.
