BFP-IX Conducts Fire Prevention Lecture and Drill to MGB-IX Employees

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Sta. Maria Sub-Station conducted a virtual lecture on fire safety tips and prevention on April 16, 2021. Fire Officer 3 Liz-Laudette Ratag gave a half-day online lecture via Zoom re laws, rules and regulations governing BFPs mandate including the different services they provide to the public.

A Low-Pressure Area (LPA) observed on March 31, 2021 that brought scattered rains throughout Zamboanga Peninsula had reportedly caused the overflowing of Sibuguey River affecting the Municipality of Imelda the most. The heavy rainfall was also felt by the neighboring Municipalities of Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay, specifically the Municipalities of Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay and Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur, where the headwaters of the Sibuguey River emanate, caused the river to overflow affecting low-lying areas of the Municipality of Imelda, particularly along the floodplains of Barangays Balugo, Gandiangan, La Victoria, Lumpanac, Lumbog, San Jose, and Sta. Barbara.
